This is a 1980's spec house with poorly designed spaces. The client wanted a complete kitchen and family room renovation to accommodate their lifestyle. A large eating island dominates the kitchen while a dividing wall was removed to link the family room into one large space. The existing fireplace was retrofitted with a low profile gas insert unit flanked by custom built shelving. A large flat screen TV sits above it with speakers for surround sound concealed within the bookcases.
